The Admin Of It All

Some admin is fun. Some admin feels like you would really rather do anything else. For many, starting therapy often feels like the latter, so let’s make it easier.

My Motto: Work smarter (for your neurotype), Not harder!

  • Your very first step is to send me an email letting me know you’re interested in a therapy consultation.

    You can write:

    A whole personal essay

    Three bullet points

    Or literally just “Hi, therapy??”

Add as little or as much as you want — because either way, you’re going to get the same friendly, generic-but-still-very-caring message back from me.

    That message includes:

    • A few questions I ask everyone

    • Key logistical info to help you see if therapy with me is a match

    • What to expect next

    No pressure, no perfection required

  • Once you reply to my questions, we’ll set up your free 15-minute consult.

    You choose the format:

    • Phone call

    • Video call

Whatever feels comfortable and doable for you.

  • During this call, three important things happen:

    1. I make sure what you’re seeking therapy for aligns with what I excel at.

I want you to receive care that’s aligned with my strengths, training, and clinical sweet spots.

If what you’re wanting help with fits my wheelhouse, amazing.

If not, I’ll let you know and point you toward therapists who specialize in what you need.

    2. We see if we vibe.

    Evidence-based treatment is important.

So is working with someone you actually like talking to.

This call helps us figure out:

    • Do we communicate well together?

    • Does my therapeutic style feel like something you can grow with?

    • Do you feel comfortable enough to be honest and human with me?

The relationship matters just as much as the skill set.

    3. I give you my initial clinical impressions.

You’ll walk away from this call with:

    • A sense of what I think is going on

    • What specific treatments may be most helpful

    • A quick overview of what those treatments look like

    • Why I’m recommending them

    You can then:

    • Take that info and research more on your own

    • Decide if I’m the therapist you want to work with

    • Or use the information to find a therapist with similar expertise but a different style

    • Or decide a different skill set entirely might be a better match — and I’ll help point you in the right direction

My goal is to equip you with clarity, not confusion.

  • At the end and anytime after the consult, you get to decide:

    • Yes, let’s work together. We schedule the intake appointment and i give you all the next steps from there.

    • No, I need someone with a different style

    • Or I need someone with a different specialty

And whichever route fits you best, I’ll support that. and offer support connecting to other referrals.
